OPERATION

1. READ DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

1. Prepare the Subaru Select Monitor kit.

2. Prepare PC with Subaru Select Monitor installed.

3. Connect the USB cable to SDI (Subaru Diagnosis Interface) and USB port on the personal computer (dedicated port for the Subaru Select Monitor).

NOTE:

The dedicated port for the Subaru Select Monitor means the USB port which was used to install the Subaru Select Monitor.

4. Connect the diagnosis cable to SDI.

5. Connect SDI to data link connector located in the lower portion of the instrument panel (on the driver’s side).

6. Start the PC.

7. Turn the ignition switch to ON and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

8. Call up DTC and data, then record them.

NOTE:

For detailed operation procedures, refer to “PC application help for Subaru Select Monitor”.

2. READ CURRENT DATA

1. On «Main Menu» display, select {Each System Check}.

2. On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Keyless access system}.

3. On «Keyless access system» display, select {Control Module Name} displayed.

4. The selected {Control Module Name} will be displayed. Select the {OK}.

5. Select «Current Data Display & Save».

6. Using the scroll key, scroll the display screen up or down until the desired data is shown.

4. CLEAR MEMORY MODE

1. On «Main Menu» display, select {Each System Check}.

2. On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Keyless access system}.

3. On «Smart Key System» display, select {Clearing Memory}.

4. When the “Clear Memory?” is shown on the screen, click the [YES] button.

5. When “Done” and “Turn Ignition Switch OFF.” are shown on the display, turn the ignition switch to OFF.

NOTE:

• Initial diagnosis of electronic throttle control is performed after memory clearance. Wait for 10 seconds or more after turning the ignition switch to ON, and then start the engine.

5. KEYLESS ACCESS SYSTEM CHECK

1. Connect SDI to data link connector located in the lower portion of the instrument panel (on the driver’s side).

CAUTION:

Do not connect scan tools other than the Subaru Select Monitor.

2. Start the PC.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

4. On «Main Menu» display, select {Each System Check}.

5. On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Keyless access system}.

6. On «Keyless access system» display, select {Collation ECM}.

7. Click the [OK] button after the control module name (Collation ECM) is displayed.

8. On «Collation ECM» display, select {Keyless access system check}.

9. On «Keyless access system check» display, select {System check}.

10. Select the transmitter on the «System check», and click the [Next] button.

11. Select [Exit] to exit the system check. The screen will return to the «Keyless access system check» screen.

6. POWER SUPPLY ECM OUTPUT CHECK

1. Connect SDI to data link connector located in the lower portion of the instrument panel (on the driver’s side).

CAUTION:

Do not connect scan tools other than the Subaru Select Monitor.

2. Start the PC.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

4. On «Main Menu» display, select {Each System Check}.

5. On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Keyless access system}.

6. On «Keyless access system» display, select {Power Supply ECM}.

7. Click the [OK] button after the control module name (Power Supply ECM) is displayed.

8. On «Power Supply ECM» display, select {Power Supply ECM output check}.

9. On «Power Supply ECM output check» display, select {Drive item}.

10. Select the desired function on the «Drive item», and click the [Next] button.

11. Select [Exit] to exit the drive item mode. The screen will return to the «Drive item» screen.

2. Start the PC.

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and run the “PC application for Subaru Select Monitor”.

4. On «Main Menu» display, select {Each System Check}.

5. On «System Selection Menu» display, select {Keyless access system}.

6. On «Keyless access system» display, select {Collation ECM}.

7. Click the [OK] button after the control module name (Collation ECM) is displayed.

8. On «Collation ECM» display, select {Collation ECM output check}.

9. On «Collation ECM output check» display, select {Drive item}.

10. Select the desired function on the «Drive item», and click the [Next] button.

11. Select [Exit] to exit the drive item mode. The screen will return to the «Drive item» screen.
