FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS)(H4DO 1.5) > Intake Manifold

REMOVAL

1. Set the vehicle on a lift.

2. Remove the V-belt covers.

3. Release the fuel pressure.

4. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

5. Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.

6. Lift up the vehicle.

7. Remove the under cover.

8. Drain approximately 3.0 L (3.2 US qt, 2.6 Imp qt) of engine coolant.

9. Remove the air intake chamber and intake boot.

10. Remove the generator.

11. Disconnect the engine coolant hoses (A) from throttle body.

12. Disconnect the PCV hose (A) from intake manifold.

13. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose.

• LHD model

• RHD model

14. Remove the bolt, and disconnect the bulkhead harness connector from the engine harness connector and rear engine hanger.

15. Slide the engine harness connector in the direction of the arrow and remove it from the rear engine hanger.

16. Disconnect the front oxygen (A/F) sensor connector (A) and rear oxygen sensor connector (B).

17. Disconnect the connector from power steering pump switch.

18. Disconnect the connectors from the engine coolant temperature sensor (A), oil pressure switch (B) and crankshaft position sensor (C).

19. Disconnect the connector from camshaft position sensor.

20. Disconnect the connector from the oil flow control solenoid valve.

21. Disconnect the connector from ignition coil.

22. Remove the EGR pipe.

23. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.

24. Disconnect the fuel delivery hose (A) and evaporation hose (B) from the fuel pipe.

CAUTION:

• Be careful not to spill fuel.

• Catch the fuel from hoses using a container or cloth.

25. Remove the intake manifold from cylinder head.
