REPLACEMENT

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

2. Remove the air intake duct.

3. Disconnect the connector from the mass air flow and intake temperature sensor.

4. Loosen the boot clamp.

5. Detach the clips on top of the air cleaner case.

6. Pull the air cleaner case (rear) towards the rear of the vehicle, and remove the filter element.

7. Check that there are no foreign objects on the clean side, and install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

When replacing the air cleaner element, use suitable Subaru genuine air cleaner element according to the engine type. If other air cleaner filter elements are used, it may have adverse effects on the engine.
