REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Be careful not to damage the airbag system harness when servicing the instrument panel. Damage may cause the system to malfunction.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

2. Remove the front pillar upper trim.

3. Remove plastic hook (A), and remove the instrument panel side cover.

4. Remove the console box.

5. Remove the console front panel.

6. Remove the instrument panel lower cover.

7. Remove the glove box lid. (Manual A/C model)

8. On manual A/C models, detach the control cable.

9. Remove the steering shaft assembly.

10. Disconnect connectors.

NOTE:

To make reassembly easier, mark connectors for easy matching and reassembly.

11. Remove the bolts and fuse box on the driver’s side.

12. Remove the bolts on the passenger’s side.

13. Make sure that connectors are disconnected, and remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.

14. Remove the combination meter assembly.

15. Remove the audio.

16. Remove the GPS antenna.

17. Remove the heater vent duct.

18. Remove the bolts securing the passenger’s side airbag module to the steering support beam.

19. Remove the claws, and remove the passenger’s airbag module.

20. Remove the steering support beam bracket.
