REMOVAL

NOTE:

(1) When replacing the body integrated unit

• Prepare the security ID plate.

• For models with immobilizers, prepare the required number of new (unregistered) immobilizer keys. (Except for models with keyless access.)

• When replacing the body integrated unit, check and record the current settings.

(2) After replacing the body integrated unit with immobilizer

• Register the immobilizer. For detailed work procedures, refer to the “PC application help for Subaru Select Monitor”.

• Set the current settings as recorded.

1. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.

2. Remove the driver’s side instrument panel lower cover.

3. Disconnect the connector of body integrated unit.

CAUTION:

Be careful to keep water and other foreign materials away from body integrated unit.

4. Remove two mounting bolts for the body integrated unit bracket, and remove the body integrated unit.
