CAUTION:
Be sure the lining surface is free from brake fluid and grease.
1. Apply brake grease to the following locations.
Brake grease:
Molykote M7439 (Part No. 003602001)
• Six contact surfaces of the brake shoe rim and back plate
• Contact surface of the brake shoe and wheel cylinder
• Contact surface of the brake shoe and adjuster
• Contact surface of the lever and brake shoe
2. Connect the parking brake cable to the parking brake lever.
3. Check that the parking brake cable remains attached to the cable guide.
4. Install the trailing shoe and secure with the shoe hold-down spring.
5. Install the adjuster and adjusting lever to the leading shoe.
NOTE:
Install the adjuster so that the adjusting wheel is located towards the front side of the vehicle.

6. Install the leading shoe and secure with the shoe hold-down spring.
7. Install the adjusting spring and return spring.
8. Install the rear brake drum.
