CENTER PILLAR REMOVAL

1. After rough cutting area (A) and drilling the 33 weld locations marked (B), remove the lower part of the center pillar (outer).

2. The side sill reinforcement may interfere with removal of the center pillar. Rough cut the sections marked (C) to remove the side sill reinforcement.

3. If the side sill reinforcement is not damaged, do not dispose of it, as it will be reused for installation. If it is damaged considerably, replace it with a new one.

Caution

• Avoid cutting with a flame as the insulator (shaded area) is flammable. Use an sir saw, etc.

4. Remove the side sill reinforcement, and then drill the 22 weld locations marked in figure 1 to remove the center pillar.

Caution

• The anchor nut plate will be reused. Be careful not to damage it when rough cutting the inner panel and reinforcement.
