POWER SLIDING DOOR (PSD) SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
BME091173001104
Basic Operation
PSD operation using switches
Fully closed to fully open
-
• When the PSD front switch, PSD rear switch, or the transmitter is operated to open a sliding door, the latch release actuator releases the latch and the PSD drive module slides the door.
Partly open to fully open
-
• When the PSD front switch, PSD rear switch, or the transmitter is operated to open a sliding door, the PSD drive module slides the door.
Fully open to fully closed, partly open to fully closed (PSD front switch only)
-
• When the PSD front switch, PSD rear switch, or the transmitter is operated to close a sliding door, the PSD drive module slides the door until the door is ajar. Then, the easy closure system operates to close the door fully.
-
Note
-
• If the PSD rear switch, or transmitter R or L button is operated when the door is partly open, the sliding door slides in the open direction.
PSD operation via handle assist operation
Fully closed to fully open
-
• When the inner or outer handle is operated and the sliding door switch turns on or sliding door circuit contact turns on, the PSD drive module slides the sliding door.
Fully open to fully closed
-
• When the inner or outer handle is operated and the check switch turns on, the PSD drive module slides the sliding door until the door is ajar. Then, the easy closure system operates to close the door fully.
-
Note
-
• The handle assist does not operate when the sliding door is partly open.
Operation Conditions
• No PSD operations can be operated when the main switch is at in-position (off).
• The PSD operation can be started when the conditions shown in the table below are satisfied.
• When the PSD start operation is performed without satisfying the conditions shown in the table, the buzzer sounds for 0.25 seconds.
• When any of conditions 1. to 5. in the table is canceled during the PSD operation, the PSD operation is stopped forcibly.
• When the ignition switch is at ON position, PSD start operation using the transmitter is not available.
• When the battery voltage drops during PSD operation, the operation continues.
• When the battery voltage increases to 17.8 V or higher during the PSD operation, the operation stops.
• When the vehicle starts to move with the sliding door open (door switch ON), the buzzer sounds continuously.
• When the vehicle speed falls from 40 km/h to 3 km/h {24.8 mph to 1.86 mph} within 1.0 seconds, PSD operation is inhibited for 3 seconds.
• When the child safety lock lever is at LOCK position, the PSD does not operate even if the PSD rear switch is operated.

Jam Prevention Function
• Jamming by obstructions is detected under the following conditions:
-
- When the sliding door speed is below specification
-
- When the PSD motor current is above specification
• The PSD operation stops when an obstruction in the open/close direction is detected more than three times continuously.
Jamming during door-open operation
-
• If an obstruction is detected when the sliding door is opened from fully closed position to near the fuel-filler lid stopper, the buzzer sounds and the sliding door stops. The clutch is released at this time.
-
• If an obstruction is detected when the sliding door is opened beyond the fuel-filler lid stopper, the buzzer sounds and the sliding door If an obstruction is detected when the sliding door is opened beyond the fuel-filler lid stopper, the buzzer sounds and the sliding door slides in the close direction approximately 100 mm {3.94 in}, then stops.
Jamming during door-close operation
-
• When an obstruction is detected before the sliding door slides over the checker, the buzzer sounds and the door stops.
-
• When an obstruction is detected after the sliding door slides over the checker, the buzzer sounds and the door opens fully.
