SHIFT-LOCK RELEASE LEVER INSPECTION

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

2. Verify that the selector lever is in P position.

3. Without the brake pedal depressed, verify that the selector lever cannot be shifted from P position.

4. Remove the cover.

5. Push down the shift-lock release lever using fingers.

6. Verify that the selector lever can be shifted from P position.

• If there is any malfunction, inspect and repair as necessary.
