Operation Inspection

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Note

• The HOLD indicator light will illuminate if a malfunction exists in any of the EC-AT system components.

2. Verify that the HOLD indicator light is not illuminated.

3. Press the switch and verify that the HOLD indicator illuminates.

• If there is any malfunction, after checking the HOLD switch (See HOLD SWITCH INSPECTION [JA5A-EL].), inspect the terminal voltage of the HOLD indicator light.

Voltage Inspection

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Measure voltage between terminal 3J and a ground.


Voltage	Action
B+	Go to the next step
Other	• Replace METER fuse • Repair the wiring harness (METER fuse-instrument cluster)

Continuity Inspection

1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.

2. Disconnect the TCM connector.

3. Inspect continuity between instrument cluster connector terminal 1H and TCM terminal 1E.

• If there is any malfunction, inspect the wiring harness (instrument cluster-TCM).

• If if is normal, go to the next step.

1H- (TCM 1E)	Yes

4. Inspect continuity between terminals 1H and 3J.

• If there is any malfunction, replace the instrument cluster or bulb.
