Inspection of Operation

1. Turn the ignition switch from the LOCK to ON position.

Note

• The HOLD indicator light will illuminate if a malfunction exists in any of the EC-AT system components.

2. Verify that the HOLD indicator light is not illuminated.

3. Press the switch and verify that the HOLD indicator illuminates.

• If the HOLD switch function is not as specified, after inspecting the HOLD switch (See HOLD SWITCH INSPECTION [FN4A-EL].), inspect the terminal voltage of the HOLD indicator light.

Inspection of Voltage

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Measure the voltage between terminal 3J and ground.


Voltage	Action
B+	Go to next step
Other	• Replace METER fuse • Repair wiring harness (METER fuse-instrument cluster)

Inspection of Continuity

1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.

2. Disconnect the TCM connector.

3. Inspect for continuity between instrument cluster connector terminal 1H and PCM terminal 3R.

• If not as specified, inspect the wiring harness (instrument cluster-PCM).

• If as specified, go to the next step.


Terminals	Continuity
1H- (PCM 3R)	Yes

4. Inspect for continuity between terminals 1H and 3J.

• If not as specified, replace the instrument cluster or bulb.
