NO.26 HOLD INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE WHEN HOLD SWITCH IS TURNED TO ON [JA5A-EL]


26	HOLD indicator light does not illuminate when HOLD switch is turned to ON
DESCRIPTION	• HOLD indicator light in instrument cluster does not illuminate when the HOLD switch is turned on with the ignition switch at ON.
POSSIBLE CAUSE	• HOLD switch or related wiring harness malfunction. Note • Before following the troubleshooting steps, make sure that the Automatic Transaxle On-Board Diagnostic and Automatic Transaxle Basic Inspection are conducted.


STEP	INSPECTION		ACTION
1	Do other indicator lights illuminate with the ignition switch at on?	Yes	Go to the next step.
1		No	Inspect the meter fuse.
2	Inspect the TCS PID value using the WDS or equivalent. Is the TCS PID value normal?	Yes	Go to the next step.
2		No	Inspect the HOLD switch. (See HOLD SWITCH INSPECTION [JA5A-EL].) If the HOLD switch normal, inspect for continuity between the HOLD switch and TCM terminal 2I.
3	Remove the HOLD indicator light. Is the HOLD indicator light bulb burned out?	Yes	Replace the HOLD indicator light.
3		No	Inspect for open circuit or disconnected connector in following harness. • Ignition switch and HOLD indicator light • HOLD indicator light and TCM terminal E including instrument cluster circuit board
4	• Verify the test results. - If normal, return to the diagnostic index to service any additional symptoms. - If the malfunction remains, inspect the related Service Bulletins and/or On-line Repair Information and perform repair or diagnosis. • If the vehicle is repaired, troubleshooting is completed. • If the vehicle is not repaired or additional diagnostic information is not available, replace the TCM.
