DTC U0100

TCM cannot receive any signals from PCM

DETECTION CONDITION

• If the TCM cannot receive any signals from the PCM, the TCM determines that there is a malfunction.
Diagnostic support note:
• This is continuous monitor (CCM).
• The MIL illuminates if the TCM detects the above malfunction condition.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• The HOLD indicator light flashes.
• The DTC is stored in the TCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Short to ground circuit between TCM terminal 2J and PCM terminal 66
• Short to ground circuit between TCM terminal 2M and PCM terminal 92
• Open circuit in wiring harness between TCM terminal 2J and PCM terminal 66
• Open circuit in wiring harness between TCM terminal 2M and PCM terminal 92
• Short to power supply circuit between TCM terminal 2J and PCM terminal 66
• Short to power supply circuit between TCM terminal 2M and PCM terminal 92
• Damaged TCM
• Damaged PCM

- TCM connector terminal 2J and body ground
- TCM connector terminal 2M and body ground
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.
6
INSPECT CAN COMMUNICATION LINE FOR SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY
• Measure the voltage between the following terminals:
- TCM connector terminal 2J and body ground
- TCM connector terminal 2M and body ground
• Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.
7
INSPECT POOR CONNECTION OF PCM CONNECTOR
• Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
• Disconnect the PCM connector.
• Inspect for poor connection (such as damaged/pulled-out pins, corrosion).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair the terminal, then go to Step 9.
