INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ABS/TCS HU/CM AND DLC-2 FOR CONTINUITY AND SHORTS
• Activate CHK_TRAC (TCS indicator light) using WDS or equivalent.
• Is error message displayed regarding communication between ABS/TCS HU/CM and WDS or equivalent?

Yes
|
If a communication error message is displayed even after inspecting according to procedures displayed on the WDS or equivalent, go to Step 6.
|

No
|
Go to next step.

INSPECT TCS INDICATOR LIGHT BULB MALFUNCTION INSPECTION FUNCTION IN ABS/TCS HU/CM
• Activate CHK_TRAC (TCS indicator light) using WDS or equivalent.
• Does TCS indicator light illuminate?
|
Yes
|
Replace ABS/TCS HU/CM (indicator light bulb malfunction inspection control incorrect in ABS/TCS HU/CM).
|
|
No
|
Go to next step.
|

|
INSPECT TCS INDICATOR LIGHT BULB
• Remove instrument cluster.
• Inspect TCS indicator light bulb.
• Is it okay?
|
Yes
|
Go to next step.
|
|
No
|
Replace TCS indicator light bulb.
|

INSPECT TCS INDICATOR LIGHT CIRCUIT IN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
• Connect instrument cluster (20-pin) Terminal 2K to ground and correct all instrument cluster connections.
• Does TCS indicator light illuminate with ignition switch ON?

Yes
|
Undo short and connect all instrument cluster connectors, go to next step.
|
|
No
|
Replace instrument cluster (open circuit in instrument cluster).
|

VERIFY WHETHER MALFUNCTION IS IN WIRING HARNESS (BETWEEN ABS/TCS HU/CM AND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR CONTINUITY) OR ABS/TCS HU/CM
• Disconnect ABS/TCS HU/CM. Connect SST (adapter harness) (vehicle harness side only).
• Use the SST (adapter harness) connector to ground TCS indicator light Terminal M to body ground.
• Does TCS indicator light illuminate with ignition switch OFF?

Yes
|
Replace ABS/TCS HU/CM (open circuit in ABS/TCS HU/CM).
|
|
No
|
Repair wiring harness between ABS/TCS HU/CM (Terminal M) and instrument cluster.
|
|

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ABS/TCS HU/CM AND DLC (DATA LINK CONNECTION) FOR CONTINUITY
• Is there continuity between SST (adapter harness) connector Terminal T and DLC-2.
|
Yes
|
Go to next step.
|
|
No
|
Repair wiring harness between ABS/TCS HU/CM (Terminal T) and DLC-2.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ABS/TCS HU/CM AND DLC-2 FOR SHORT TO B+
• Is voltage approximately 12 V at SST (adapter harness) connect Terminal T?

Yes
|
Repair wiring harness between ABS/TCS HU/CM (Terminal T) and DLC-2.
|
|
No
|
Go to next step.

INSPECT WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ABS/TCS HU/CM AND DLC-2 FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Is there continuity between SST (adapter harness) connector Terminal T and ground?
|
Yes
|
Repair wiring harness between ABS/TCS HU/CM (Terminal T) and DLC-2.
|
|
No
|
Replace ABS/TCS HU/CM (communication circuit malfunction in ABS/TCS HU/CM).
