OIL PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3]

Caution

• Position the hose clamp in the original location on the hose, and squeeze the clamp lightly with large pliers to ensure a good fit.

• After radiator cowling installation, rotate the cooling fan by hand and verify that the fan blade does not touch the radiator cowling. If the fan touches the cowling, adjust the radiator cowling mounting position.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Drain the engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT.)

3. Remove the oil pan. (See OIL PAN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3].)

4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

6. Refill the engine with the specified type and amount of the engine oil. (See ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT.)

7. Start the engine and inspect for engine oil leakage.

8. Inspect the oil pressure. (See OIL PRESSURE INSPECTION [L3].)

Oil Pump Sprocket Removal/Installation Note

1. Use the SST to stop the oil pump sprocket from turning.

2. Remove the bolt.
