1. Disconnect the engine and automatic transaxle. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [JA5A-EL].)
2. Remove the drive plate. (See DRIVE PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [JA5A-EL].)
3. Remove the intake-air system. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ].)
4. Remove the exhaust system. (See EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ].)
5. Remove the thermostat case and water hose component.
6. Remove the water bypass tube. (See Water Bypass Tube Removal Note.)
7. Remove the ignition coils. (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [AJ].)
8. Remove the generator bracket.
9. Install in the reverse order of removal.
