DTC P0112 [AJ] (VIN: JM0 LW10J300 301406-, JMZ LW69J7*# 307683-, JM8 LW28J**# 301514-, JM8 LW28A**# 301514- (Assumed))

BME010200100W12

DTC P0112

IAT circuit low input

DETECTION CONDITION

• The PCM monitors IAT sensor signal at PCM terminal 15. If the PCM detected IAT sensor voltage below 0.2 V, the PCM determines that the IAT sensor circuit has malfunction.
Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
• The MIL illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in the first drive cycle.
• PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• IAT sensor malfunction
• Short to ground circuit between MAF/IAT sensor terminal F and PCM terminal 15
• Short each harness IAT signal circuit and IAT ground circuit.
• Poor connection at MAF/IAT sensor or PCM connector.
• PCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
• Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record FREEZE FRAME DATA on repair order, then go to the next step.
2
VERIFY RELATED REPAIR INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Check for related Service Information and/or on-line repair information availability.
• Is any related repair information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available repair information.
• If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
3
VERIFY CURRENT INPUT SIGNAL STATUS- IS CONCERN INTERMITTENT OR CONSTANT
• Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off).
• Access IAT PID.
• Is IAT PID below 0.2 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Intermittent concern exists. Go to INTERMITTENT CONCERNS TROUBLESHOOTING procedure.
4
INSPECT MAF SENSOR TERMINAL
• Turn the ignition switch off.
• Disconnect MAF/IAT sensor connector.
• Check for bent terminal of MAF/IAT sensor terminal A and F (part-side).
• Is there any malfunction?
Yes
Repair or replace the terminal, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.
5
CLASSIFY IAT SENSOR MALFUNCTION OR HARNESS MALFUNCTION
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off).
• Access IAT PID.
• Is IAT PID below 0.2 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the MAF/IAT sensor, then go to Step 8.
6
INSPECT IAT SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Turn the ignition switch off.
• Disconnect PCM connector.
• Check continuity between MAF/IAT sensor terminal F (harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace harness for short to ground, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.
7
INSPECT IAT CIRCUITS FOR SHORT
• Check continuity between MAF/IAT sensor terminal A and F (harness-side).
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace harness for short, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0112 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the WDS or equivalent.
• Start engine.
• Is same DTC present?
Yes
Replace PCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
9
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform the "After Repair Procedure".
• Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
