DTC P0107 [AJ]

BME010200100205

DTC P0107

BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor circuit low input

DETECTION CONDITION

• PCM monitors input voltage from BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor when monitoring conditions are met. If input voltage at PCM terminal 34 is below 0.2 V, PCM determines that BARO sensor/EGR boost circuit is malfunctioning.
MONITORING CONDITION
- Intake air temperature is above 10 °C {50 °F}.
- EGR boost sensor solenoid is turned OFF. (Barometric pressure is applied to EGR boost sensor.) (Australian, General (L.H.D. R.H.D.))
Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
• MIL illuminates if PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
• PENDING CODE is not available.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor malfunction
• Connector or terminal malfunction
• Short to ground in wiring between BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor terminal B and PCM terminal 34
• Open circuit in wiring between BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor terminal C and PCM terminal 90
• PCM malfunction

Diagnostic procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

ACTION

1
VERIFY FREEZE FRAME DATA HAS BEEN RECORDED
• Has FREEZE FRAME DATA been recorded?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Record FREEZE FRAME DATA on repair order, then go to the next step.
2
VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY
• Check for related Service Information availability.
• Is any related Service Information available?
Yes
Perform repair or diagnosis according to available Service Information.
• If vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
3
VERIFY CURRENT INPUT SIGNAL STATUS-IS CONCERN INTERMITTENT OR CONSTANT
• Connect the WDS or equivalent to the DLC-2.
• Start engine.
• Access BARO PID.
• Is BARO PID below 0.2 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Intermittent concern exists. Go to INTERMITTENT CONCERNS TROUBLESHOOTING procedure.
4
VERIFY BARO PID WHEN EGR BOOST SENSOR CONNECTOR IS DISCONNECTED
• Disconnect the BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor connector.
• Is voltage above 4.8 V?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to step 6.
5
CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT BARO SENSOR/EGR BOOST SENSOR CONNECTOR
Note
• If DTC P0122 is also retrieved with P0107, then go to CONSTANT VOLTAGE troubleshooting procedure.
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off).
• Measure the voltage between BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor terminal C (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there voltage within 4.5- 5.5 V?
Yes
Inspect for poor connection of BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor terminal C (wiring harness-side).
• Repair or replace terminal if necessary.
• If normal, replace the BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor.
Then go to Step 8.
No
Inspect for open circuit between PCM terminal 90 (wiring harness-side) and EGR boost sensor terminal C (wiring harness-side).
Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to Step 8.
6
INSPECT BARO SENSOR/EGR BOOST SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
• Turn the ignition switch off.
• Disconnect the PCM connector.
• Inspect for continuity between BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor terminal B (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to Step 8.
No
Go to the next step.
7
INSPECT BARO SENSOR/EGR BOOST SENSOR SIGNAL AND GROUND CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO EACH OTHER
• Inspect for continuity between BARO sensor/EGR boost sensor terminals B and A (harness-side).
• Is there continuity?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
8
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0107 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off).
• Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the WDS or equivalent.
• Start the engine.
• Access IAT PIDs using WDS or equivalent.
• Make sure that IAT PID is above 10 °C {50 °F}
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
9
VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Perform "After Repair Procedure".
• Is there any DTC present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
