DTC P0032

HO2S heater (Front, RH) circuit high

DETECTION CONDITION

• The PCM monitors the HO2S heater (Front, RH) control signal at PCM terminal 93. If the PCM turns the front heater (RH) on but front heater (RH) circuit has high voltage, the PCM determines that the HO2S heater (Front, RH) circuit has malfunction.
Note
• The HO2S heater (Front, RH) is controlled by a duty signal.
Diagnostic support note
• This is a continuous monitor (O2 sensor heater).
• MIL illuminates if PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles.
• PENDING CODE is available if PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
• FREEZE FRAME DATA is available.
• DTC is stored in PCM memory.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• Short to power circuit between HO2S (Front, RH) terminal D and PCM terminal 93
• Shorts HO2S (Front, RH) or PCM terminal
• PCM malfunction

Go to the next step.
6
INSPECT HO2S (FRONT, RH) HEATER CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO POWER CIRCUIT
• Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Engine off).
• Measure the voltage between HO2S (Front, RH) terminal D (wiring harness-side) and body ground.
• Is the voltage B+?
Yes
Repair or replace the wiring harness for short to power circuit, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
7
VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING OF DTC P0032 COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
