AIR BAG MODULE AND PRE-TENSIONER SEAT BELT DEPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION PROCEDURES

1. Install a new SAS unit.

(1) Turn the ignition switch to ON position.

(2) Verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds, hoes off, and then flashes continuously.

• If the air bag system warning light does not flash continuously and indicates a DTC, inspect the system using the on-board diagnostic. When the malfunctions have been repaired and the air bag system warning light flashes continuously, turn the ignition switch to LOCK position.Wait for approximately 1 second or more and then turn the ignition switch back to ON position.

• If the air bag system warning light flashes continuously, turn the ignition switch to LOCK position. Wait for approximately 1 second or more and then turn the ignition switch back to ON position.

2. Verify that the air bag system warning light illuminates for approximately 6 seconds and then goes off.

• If the light stays on, perform the deployment authorization procedure again.
