ELECTRONIC BRAKEFORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD) CONTROL OUTLINE
BME041343750T03
• The Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) control system detects the front/rear wheel slip according to the signal from the ABS wheel-speed sensors. If the rear wheel slip increases beyond a preset limit in proportion to the front wheel, the ABS HU/CM optimally reduces the brake fluid to the rear wheels. Brakeforce can therefore be proportioned optimally according to vehicle load and road surface conditions.
• The table below classifies the conditions according to the rear wheel slip that is determined by comparing rear wheel-speed to the minimum speed of the front wheel and the estimated vehicle speed.
• EBD control changes the distribution rate of the brake fluid pressure to the rear wheels when condition 1, 2, or 3 in the table is met.
• If the ABS control conditions are satisfied, EBD control is stopped and ABS control takes priority.
