• To warm up the engine completely, idle the engine and wait for 5 minutes or more.

U2021 (87)

Engine coolant temperature is 0 °C {32 °F} or less.

DETECTION CONDITION

• After engine is warmed up, engine coolant temperature is 0 °C {32 °F} or less, and TCS operation is inhibited by PCM.
• DTC is not stored.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• System is normal. When engine coolant temperature rises, TCS operation is executed by PCM.

CHECK WHETHER ENGINE IS WARMED UP OR NOT
• Is it engine warmed up?
Yes
Go to next step.
No
Warm up the engine.
If TCS OFF light goes out, system is normal.

VERIFY THAT MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM OCCURS AFTER ENGINE IS WARMED UP
• Warm up the engine.
• Is TCS indicator light also illuminated and DTC C1118 (82) obtained?
Yes
Go to DTC C1118 (82) chart.
No
If TCS OFF light goes out, system is normal.
If TCS OFF light does not go out, go to next step.

VERIFY TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED
• Make sure to reconnect all disconnected connectors.
• Clear DTC from memory.
• Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Replace ABS/TCS HU/CM, go to next step.
No
Go to next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE
• Is there any DTC present?
Yes
Go to applicable DTC inspection.
No
Troubleshooting completed.
