*1 :
Engine coolant and engine oil are at specified levels. Spare tire, jack and tools are in designated positions.
-
*2 :
Difference between left and right must not exceed 1°30' .
Maximum Steering Angle Adjustment
1. Loosen the tie-rod end locknuts.
2. Remove the steering gear boot clamp.
3. Turn the tie rods to equalize the length L.
Maximum left/right difference
-
3 mm {0.12 in}
4. Turn the tie rods equally to provide the correct maximum steering angle.
5. Tighten the tie-rod end locknuts.
Tightening torque
-
69-98 N·m {7.0-10.0 kgf·m, 50.7-72.3 ft·lbf}
6. Verify that the boot is not twisted, and install the boot clamp.
7. Adjust the toe-in after adjusting the steering angle.
Camber Adjustment
-
Note
-
• Adjustable value is 30'.
1. Jack up the vehicle and remove the wheel and tire.
2. Remove the indicated bolt and replace it with the adjusting bolt and washer.
3. Adjust in the following procedures.
-
• In case of adjusting to + (positive) side, install the adjusting bolt and washer so that the projection of the washer faces inside (shock absorber side) as shown.

-
• In case of adjusting to - (negative) side, install the adjusting bolt and washer so that the projection of the washer faces outside (steering knuckle side) as shown.

4. Tighten the nut within the specified torque.
Tightening torque
-
102.9-122.5 N·m {10.50-12.49 kgf·m, 75.90-90.35 ft·lbf}
5. Install the wheel and tire, then jack down the vehicle.
6. Shake the vehicle to settle the suspension.
7. Inspect the camber and readjust it if necessary.
Caster Adjustment
1. Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it on safety stands.
2. Remove the mounting block nuts.
-
Caution
-
• Adjust the caster by turning the mounting block as shown so that the direction indicator is located at position A. If the direction indicator faces toward the inside of the vehicle, the camber and caster will be out of specifications.
3. Push the mounting block downward, and turn the direction indicator to position A.
Adjustable value
-30'
4. Install and tighten the mounting nuts within the specified torque.
Tightening torque
-
46.1-62.7 N·m {4.71-6.39 kgf·m, 34.1-46.2 ft·lbf}
Total Toe-in Adjustment
1. Center the steering wheel and confirm that the vehicle wheels/tires are pointing straight.
2. Remove the steering gear boot clamp.
3. Loosen the left and right tie rod locknuts and turn the tie-rods equally. Both tie rods are right threaded, so turning the right tie-rod toward the front of the vehicle and the left toward the rear increases toe-in.
-
Note
-
• Turning both tie-rods one complete turn changes toe-in by about 6 mm {0.24 in} (0°36').
4. Tighten the tie-rod locknuts to the specified torque.
Tightening torque
-
69-98 N·m {7.0-10.0 kgf·m, 50.7-72.3 ft·lbf}
5. Verify that the boot is not twisted, and install the boot clamp.
