EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)]

Warning

• When the engine and exhaust system are hot, they can cause severe burns or injury. Turn off the engine and wait until they are cool before removing the exhaust system.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Warm Up Oxidation Catalytic Converter Removal Note

1. Remove the joint shaft before removing the warm up oxidation catalytic converter. (See JOINT SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

Water Hose Removal Note

Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

Turbo charger Removal Note

1. Remove the air pipe and the air hose before removing the turbocharger. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

Exhaust Manifold Removal Note

1. Remove the EGR pipe before removing the exhaust manifold. (See EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)].)

Exhaust Manifold Installation Note

1. Tighten the exhaust manifold installation nuts in the order shown.
