DTC P0500 [MZR-CD (RF Turbo)]

BME010200500W07

DTC P0500

VSS circuit malfunction

DETECTION CONDITION

• PCM monitors input vehicle speed signal from instrument cluster while engine is running. If input vehicle speed signal from instrument cluster is 0 km/h {0 mph} when gear is in position other than neutral, clutch pedal is depressed and engine speed is 2,800 rpm or above, PCM determines VSS circuit malfunction.

POSSIBLE CAUSE

• ABS HU/CM malfunction
• Instrument cluster malfunction
• Connector or terminal malfunction
• Short to GND in wiring between instrument cluster terminal 2O and PCM terminal 6
• Open circuit in wiring between instrument cluster terminal 2O and PCM terminal 6
• Short to GND in wiring between ABS HU/CM terminal Q and instrument cluster terminal 2G
• Open circuit in wiring between ABS HU/CM terminal Q and instrument cluster terminal 2G
• PCM malfunction
