FAW Besturn B50 background information
The Besturn B50 is a limousine of the compact class of the Chinese brand Besturn.
1st generation (2009–2016)
For the first time, the first generation vehicle was shown formally on the Auto China 2008. At the start of the sale on May 16, 2009, the car was only powered by a 1.6-l-otzomotor with a maximum output of 76 kW (103 hp). As a gearbox, a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission was available. ABS and airbags for drivers and front passengers as well as a central locking were standard. Among other things, an automatic climate control and side airbags were added in higher equipment.
2nd generation (2016–2019)
In August 2016, the second generation of the B50 was launched in China. The vehicle is offered with two ottomotors with suction tube injection: a 1.6-l engine with a maximum output of 80 kW without an engine charging and a 1.4-l engine with a maximum output of 100 kW with turbo charging. The engine power is transferred to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission or six-speed automatic transmission. The 1.4 l engine is only available with the “RS” equipment line. In 2018 the vehicle received a facelift.
